What to Bring
- We recommend a few items of clothing that cover the shoulders and knees that may be required for visiting specific historical sites.
- Light cotton clothing is best with something to throw on for cooler nights. Winter in Northern Vietnam can be cool (Dec – Feb).
- A light raincoat is recommended during the rainy season (May-Oct).

Day 1 - Arrive Hanoi
Get Settled into Hanoi
Arrive anytime today and you’ll be met at the airport for the transfer to your 4-star hotel.
Upon arrival your local English-speaking guide will update you with all you need to know about Hanoi including money matters, how to get around, what’s ahead on your tour, plus you’ll get our guide on the best things to do and best places to eat.

Day 2 - Hanoi (B, L)
Explore the 1,000-year-old city on a Heritage Hanoi city tour – learn the role women play in society, discovering the ancient temple of Confucius and see where the great man, Ho Chi Minh, himself lies in state.
Your Heritage Hanoi city tour starts at the Women’s Museum, which highlights the incredible role women played in Vietnamese culture and traditions during the recent turbulent past. An incredible insight into the Vietnamese community.
Tour Hoa Lo, the infamous prison nicknamed the Hanoi Hilton which once housed US Senator John McCain.
The Temple of Literature built in 1070 was Vietnam’s first University, dedicated to Confucius and is a superb example of traditional-style Vietnamese architecture.
Enjoy lunch at KOTO, a not-for-profit restaurant helping troubled youth learn culinary skills to bring them higher education and a brighter future.
Then visit Ba Dinh Square to see Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, a major pilgrimage site for the Vietnamese people, where inside lies the country’s famous leader.
An Ancient City Walking Tour takes you through the narrow streets of this 1,000-year-old city centre. Bustling streets filled with vendors, city life and traditional houses make this an amazing place to explore.
The evening is yours at leisure, you may like to shop, dine beside Hoan Kiem Lake or relax back at your hotel.

Day 3 - Halong Bay (B, L, D)
Beautiful Halong Bay offers a stunning scenic cruise around calm waters with majestic islands jutting out of the sea. Onboard, your private deluxe cabin awaits along with all meals.
We will depart Hanoi for the overland journey to Halong Bay and board your oriental-style cruise boat for a tasty buffet lunch.
Spend the afternoon cruising around the limestone pillars, beautiful forest-topped islets, caves and deserted coves. Take the opportunity to swim in the crystal waters or kayak! If you’d rather relax in the comfort of the boat, activities include sunbathing, traditional massage and cooking demonstrations.
Enjoy a delicious dinner and a luxurious night’s sleep on our Deluxe Cruise. Your cabin offers all the amenities to feel comfortable: twin or queen-size bed, air-conditioner, ensuite bathroom with shower and expansive windows providing dreamy views.
Day 4 - Halong Bay - Danag (B)
This morning try your hand at Tai Chi or simply enjoy the cruise back to port. Back in Hanoi, we will take a short flight to Danang in Central Vietnam, and your beach-side 4-star resort.

An early-morning treat awaits the early-riser: join in with Tai Chi on the sundeck for the chance to admire the beauty and tranquillity of the sunrise or simply enjoy dawn break with coffee and a light breakfast.
Don’t miss your last chance to take in the stunning seascape of Halong Bay as we cruise back to port. We’ll stop at islands and bays for you to take your final pictures, before enjoying a buffet brunch.
Upon disembarking, return to Hanoi for a late afternoon flight to Danang in Central Vietnam.

Day 5 - Hoi An (B, L)
This morning discover the ancient ruins of My Son from a culture with its spiritual origins in Indian Hinduism. Then explore a past trading town on a short Ancient Hoi An walking tour.
My Son and Historic Hoi An
This morning discover the ancient ruins of My Son. Between the 4th and 13th centuries, a unique culture developed on the coast of what is now Vietnam.
My Son is Vietnam’s counterpart to the grand cities of other Asian civilizations such as Angkor (Cambodia), Bagan (Myanmar), Ayutthaya (Thailand), and Borobudur (Java).
You’ll return to Hoi An for a lunch of traditional Hoi An food.
A short Ancient Hoi An walking tour showcases the historic buildings of this old trading town.
You can return to your hotel to relax, swim and freshen up – then the evening is yours to enjoy.
Hoi An offers a huge range of lovely restaurants and is very popular for shopping.
Day 6 - Hoi An (B)
Hoi An is everyone’s favourite place, so we have included a full day where you’re at leisure to enjoy shopping, the beach, play a round of golf or to take in more sights.

You can choose to relax, explore the old town, visit the spas, walk along the beach, swim or shop – your options are limitless!
Hoi An is one of the most popular places to visit in Vietnam with its charming old town filled with art shops, homewares, cafés and tailors. It is a wonderful town for getting clothes tailor-made or for buying souvenirs.
For those who want to do something extra special, we offer optional tours (at an additional cost).
Red Bridge offers one of the most professional and fun cooking classes in Vietnam. Beginning with a market visit to purchase produce, followed by a boat trip to the school. Red Bridge will teach you how to create many of the popular Vietnamese dishes you will encounter on your holiday. Begins at 8.15 am in Hoi An town.
Countryside Village by bike
Using quality local bikes your guide will collect you from your hotel for a cycle through the countryside to a local village where the way of life remains as it has for generations. You’ll see pottery making and visit the Tra Que farming Village, the fresh vegetable gardens and see many local farmers work in their fields using traditional methods. On the way, you’ll also see small handicrafts, such as rice paper making. Lunch of local food is included before biking back to your hotel. Fitness level: Average. Grade: Easy.
Ethnic Village by Jeep
Travel by American Army Jeep for an exciting ride inland towards the Ho Chi Minh Trail, through stunning countryside to a traditional ethnic community still living the ways of their ancestors. Full day guided tour.

Day 7 - Danang - Hai Van Pass - Hue (B, D)
Don’t forget your camera for this trip! This morning we will journey over the spectacular Hai Van Pass, once rated by National Geographic as one of the top 50 ‘must-do’ journeys in the world.
Danang and the Hai Van Pass
This morning discover the Danang highlights. First explore Marble Mountain and see the huge array of artisans at the carving village set at the base of these historic hills.
Take the steps (or lift) to the top for the views and to see the hidden Buddhist statues within the caves.
Then view Dragon Bridge, before visiting the impressive pink Danang Cathedral. At the Museum of Cham Sculpture you’ll discover the world’s largest collection of Cham artefacts dating back to the 5th and 15th centuries.
After an early lunch at a local restaurant we will travel the spectacular Hai Van Pass, once rated by National Geographic as one of the 50 ‘must-do’ journeys in the world. Expect stunning views of Lang Co Beach and out to the South China Sea as we travel the winding road to Hue.

Day 8 - Hue (B, L)
Today discover the historical significance of the city of Hue, the former Royal Capital of the Imperial City.
Explore the history of Hue
Start the day of exploring the Royal Capital with a scenic boat trip along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda, a beautiful seven-storey temple built in 1601. Then continue by car to the Ancient Citadel, which was the capital of Vietnam from 1802 – 1945 and also the place where the last King of Vietnam – Bao Dai King – stepped down on 30 August, 1945.
In the afternoon, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, before visiting the tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh with its mix of Asian and Western architecture. On the return journey to your hotel we’ll stop at a roadside village to observe how locals make incense and traditional conical hats. Get acquainted with local culture and traditional crafts to finish off the day.
Day 9 - Hue to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) (B)
Transfer to Hue airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon) to discover the wonderful French Architecture, the impact of the US-Vietnamese war and traditional medicine.
Adventure in Saigon
This morning transfer to Hue airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
On arrival, transfer to your hotel for check-in and to freshen up.
Then get ready to tour the Saigon sights. We’ll explore the beautiful architecture and preserved history of this former French colonial city, including a stop at the stunning Notre Dame Cathedral and Ho Chi Minh Central Post Office. Once you’ve witnessed the blend of East and West in the landmarks, we’ll give you time for a delicious lunch (at your own cost), and make a stop at the War Museum – a stark reminder of the impact of the Vietnam War. Then, enjoy a visit to the Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine, where you’ll discover the use of natural herbs in traditional medicines used in Asia dating back to the Stone Age. We’ll end the day at a local boutique brewery for those who want to sample an ice-cold local beer to end their day!

Day 10 - Cu Chi Tunnels (B)
Journey along the magical waterways to visit the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels, one of Vietnam’s most popular landmarks.
A Fascinating Insight Into The War
The Journey to Freedom is poignantly displayed at this key historic landmark.
Cruise along the river for a fascinating insight beginning with a video to understand the tunnels’ use, then tour the grounds, and even take a peek inside if you wish. On your return to Saigon, the afternoon is yours at leisure for last-minute shopping or to enjoy the boutique breweries, markets, shops, cafés and bars.
Tip! For shopping enjoy the luxury brand names around downtown Saigon or head to Ben Thanh market to test your bartering skills.
Day 11 - Departure (B)
Today is at leisure until you transfer for your International flight departure.
