Public Holidays Vietnam & Cambodia 2019

When are the public holidays in Vietnam & Cambodia?
While Cambodia enjoys one of the highest number of public holidays at 28 for 2019, Vietnam has it’s traditions too. During these national holidays of Vietnam & Cambodia, all government offices and institutions are closed and most businesses also close, however public services like restaurants and tourists sights generally remain open, with some exceptions.

When choosing your holiday dates do be aware that during public holidays some services may be affected and booking early to confirm your travel and sightseeing arrangements is highly recommended as even transport operators and tour guides vie for time off to enjoy the celebrations with family & friends.

But it can be a fun time to be in the country, especially for the new year celebrations and water festivals.

In Vietnam, TET or Vietnamese New Year is a 4-day celebration where families come together, but its also full of flower displays and public celebrations, while in Cambodia, while the Khmer new year is more focused on family, the end of year Water Festival is a great time to be in and around Phnom Penh or Siem Reap. Here dragon boat races, markets, lion dances and street parties go off with colour and fanfare – as long as you don’t mind getting wet!

To help your holiday plans to Vietnam and Cambodia, here are the offical list’s of public holidays for 2019.
