Magic under big tent

If there is one thing you must do in Siem Reap, it’s the wonderful circus show of Phare (pronounced far). A spectacular and fun evening in Siem Reap as you head to the big tent, grab some food and drinks and head inside. Reminiscent of the old fashioned travelling circus’s, Phare have created a magical entry into the circular grand tent. Take your seat on the benches to witness the colour and spectacle about to unfold before your eyes.

They take Cambodian tales an folklore and have created fascinating, musical, dance and trapeze shows to tell the story. During the hour-long shows, the Phare performers share their emotions and excitement, blowing the audience away with their integrity and power.

The artists are graduates from the original Phare vocational training center in Battambang, located about 3 hours drive from Siem Reap. This school offers a unique opportunity to around 1,400 students every day in formal education and artistic training. Coming from vulnerable households many of the students have gained international recognition through their art, theatre, music and circus skills.Things to do in Siem Reap

The story, dance, rhythm, gymnastics, trapeze and general hilarity and passion shown by the performers is often combined with music and art to create the theatrical performance.
