Hue - Vietnam
The ancient city of Hue in Vietnam is located in the central coast area and was the capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty at the beginning of the 19th Century.
Hue owes its charm partly to its location on the Perfume River, which meanders through this small peaceful city.
During the Vietnam-US war some of the most intense conflicts occurred in this region but the attraction here is the Imperial history showcasing quite a different side of Vietnam.
A day tour of the historic sights is a must for any tour of Hue starting at the Imperial Citadel with its impressive moat and walls and ending at the colorful tombs of the last Emperor’s.
And afterwards don’t zip away through the new motorway tunnel, take the ‘old route’ over the spectacular Hai Van Pass to head over the mountain pass to Danang city and ancient Hoi An.
