Paul Safe

Managing Director Product & Marketing

Paul first travelled to Asia in 1996 and immediately fell in love with the incredible sights, sounds and smells. After visiting Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia he was lucky enough to meet a wonderful tour guide in Vietnam named Mr. Phuoc! Together, they created Active Asia and grew from their very first booking in 1998 when Vietnam was just opening to the world of tourism. They have now been serving clients for 20 years with what they truly believe are the best value tours of Vietnam and Cambodia.

Mr. Phan Quang Phuoc and Mrs. Dan Tam Thi Ta

Owner Operators, Active Asia Vietnam

From humble beginnings, Phuoc’s upbringing was spent between school, helping his family on the rice fields, and selling vegetables in the local market at the weekends. Phuoc’s childhood was filled with dreams of becoming a tour guide, and after years of hard work perfecting his English, his dream became a reality. He is a firm believer in destiny, and it was always his to one day operate his own tour company. Now, he and his wife Dan are the proud owners of Active Asia! Every day they live out their dream, proudly sharing their beautiful country with visitors from every corner of the world.

Seng Socheat

A graduate from the National University of Management (NUM) in the field of Hotel and Tourism Management, Socheat is passionate about introducing people from around the world to the wonders of Cambodia! Having worked with other Inbound tour companies for more than 10 years, he finally achieved his goal of starting a tour company with Active Asia Cambodia. His lovely wife and children complete his world, and together they are excited about the future of tourism in Cambodia. Socheat is so proud to welcome visitors to his native country and to ensure their holiday is like visiting his own home.

Mr. Ly Khunsim

Cambodia Tour Guide

Born in 1984 into a family of farmers, Ly is passionate about his country and loves nothing more than sharing it with tourists! In 2009 Ly became a licensed tour guide – the beginning of a career that gives him so much joy. His absolute favourite part of the job is taking clients to the great temple Bayon, Ta Prom and one of the seven greatest architectural wonders of the world, the Angkor Wat Temple. When he’s not at work, Ly devotes his time to his lovely wife and daughter in Siem Reap.

Mr. Sann Seila

Cambodia Tour Guide

Sann was born at Kralanh village about 54kms from Siem Reap, to a family of nurses. Moving to Siem Reap for education in 2003, Sann majored in tourism in 2009 and now works as an official tour guide. He speaks three languages (Khmer, English and Spanish) and loves to learn and share his knowledge of the history of the Khmer ancient temples. He hope his clients leave his tours as passionate about Cambodian culture and history as he is!

Mr. Ea Sambath

Cambodia Tour Guide

Mr Ea Sambath has been proudly introducing tourists to his country since 2007. It is an exciting time for tourism in Cambodia, and Ea is enthusiastic about sharing his love for his incredible country. He speaks English, Thai, and Khmer so is well-equipped to introduce tourists to Khmer life, past Khmer civilizations and Khmer culture. The Khmer achieved such amazing creations with the temples, of which Bayon is his absolute favourite!

In his homelife, he lives in Siem Reap with his wife, Mary, and their two children.

Mr. Viet

Vietnam Tour Guide

I have been a tour guide for over 10 years in Viet Nam. I love my profession very much because tourism changed my life in a positive way. I have more opportunities to interact and learn about new customs, cultures and hospitalities.

I love all of Viet Nam but Hoi An is my most favourite place where people are respecting what they are doing for their family. When you come to our country, you are going to meet a great culture and a lifestyle devoted to family.

Mr. Hoang

Vietnam Tour Guide

I was born and grew up in the Mekong delta. When I was 15 years old, one of my relatives from France visited and I took him around the village, showing him the village temple and the orchards and that was how I started thinking about being a tour guide. I love to talk to the people who come from all over the world and show them the beauty of Vietnam and our people.
